The Central Medical Library was established in 1918. Today, it is an independent institution within the structure of   the Medical University of Sofia (MUS) and has its 90-year experience in providing information   resources and services for education, research,   and professional practice.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

• To supply, catalogue, process analytically, and deliver information in the fields of medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, and health-care, thus assisting MUS in scientific research and education;
• To maintain its cooperation and exchange of   information resources with local and international scientific institutions and organizations;
  
• To perform thematic, bibliographic, and factographic references;
  
• To search for and deliver documents from electronic databases;
  
• To participate in interlibrarian loan and   electronic document delivery;
  
• To perform user’s training for working with electronic products and information resources;
  
• To perform publishing and editorial activities;
  
• To perform specialized translations;
  
• To create films, photos, slides, and posters illustrating MUS scientific and educational activities.
